Brian Walshe is accused of murdering and then dismembering his wife in 2023.

Brian Walshe's defense lawyers will be able to present their theory of the case to the jury during closing arguments on Friday.

The last witness to see Ana Walshe alive emotionally recounted her final night — a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Massachusetts home she shared with her husband Brian Walshe – who is on trial for her murder. He also recounted Brian Walshe’s cold-blooded response when he called and revealed Ana was missing.

The testimony of Gem Mutlu – a close friend of Ana Walshe’s who said he considered her family his own – came hours before prosecutors on Wednesday rested their case.

A forensic scientist with the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab said that DNA found on a hacksaw and hatchet closely matched that of Ana Walshe during testimony in the Brian Walshe trial​ on Tuesday.

Jurors saw an eerie photo of Ana Walshe laying on the same rug prosecutors say was later found bloodied, cut to pieces and thrown in a dumpster.
